Documents
The Documents module stores general project files that aren’t drawings, like specs, contracts, meeting minutes, photos, and closeout documents. Files are organized in folders, and you can limit each folder or file to specific roles.
Upload a file
Section titled “Upload a file”- Go to Left menu → Documents.
- Open the folder you want.
- Click New → Upload File.
- Drag in your files and click Upload.
Create a folder
Section titled “Create a folder”- Click New → Create Folder.
- Enter a Folder Name.
- (Owner and project manager) Choose Allowed Roles: Project Admin, Project Manager, Consultant, Subcontractor, Field.
- Click Create.
Control who sees a folder or file
Section titled “Control who sees a folder or file”Owners and project managers can set Allowed Roles on any folder or file. For example, limit a Budget folder to project admins and project managers. Open the item’s Update action to change its name or allowed roles.
Move, rename, and delete
Section titled “Move, rename, and delete”- Move: drag a file or folder onto another folder or onto the breadcrumb.
- Rename: use Update on the row.
- Delete: use Delete on the row, or select several items and click Delete Selected.
Other actions
Section titled “Other actions”- Download any file.
- Preview PDFs and images in the browser.
- Mail icon: notify project users about a file or folder.
- Search name to filter by file or folder name.

Section titled “Can I restrict a folder so subcontractors can’t see it?”Yes. Owners and project managers can set Allowed Roles on the folder and leave Subcontractor unchecked.
Can subcontractors upload documents?
Section titled “Can subcontractors upload documents?”Yes. Every project member can upload files and create folders.
Where should I put drawings?
Section titled “Where should I put drawings?”Put plan sets in Drawings, which tracks sheet numbers and revisions. Use Documents for everything else.
