Submittal revisions

A revision is a resubmission of the same submittal, usually after a reviewer returns it as Revise and Resubmit or Rejected. SubmittalLink keeps each revision as its own record under the same submittal number, so the full history stays in your submittal log.

  1. Go to Left menu → Submittals.
  2. On the submittal’s row, open the actions menu and click Create Revision.
  3. The form opens prefilled from the previous revision:
    • Revision goes up by one (for example, 0 → 1).
    • Issue Date is set to today.
    • Due Date, Released On, and Attachments are cleared so you can add the new ones.
  4. Attach the corrected documents, set a new due date, and review the steps.
  5. Click Create Submittal, or Create and Send Emails to notify reviewers.

Does a revision keep the same review steps?

Section titled “Does a revision keep the same review steps?”

Yes. The new revision is prefilled from the previous one, including review steps. Change them before saving if you need to.

Why are the attachments empty on my revision?

Section titled “Why are the attachments empty on my revision?”

Attachments are cleared on purpose, so reviewers don’t get old files. Upload the resubmitted documents.

The project may have outstanding invoices, which blocks new submittals and revisions until payment. Contact support@submittallink.com.
