RFIs in SubmittalLink

An RFI (request for information) is a formal question from the contractor to the design team or owner. It asks them to clarify something in the drawings, specifications, or contract. The answer becomes part of the project record. SubmittalLink tracks every RFI in a project’s RFI log, routes it to the right reviewers, and shows who owes a response.

  1. An owner, project manager, or field user creates an RFI with a question, attachments, and assignees.
  2. The assignees are ball in court and get an email.
  3. Assignees respond with an answer and any marked-up attachments.
  4. The RFI manager reviews the responses and closes the RFI.

Depending on the project’s RFI workflow, assignees respond all at once (Parallel, the default) or in ordered steps (Sequential).
